Setting up printers (hardware)


Types of printers

The way of printing depends on the hardware in your store. Here are simply 3 possibilities for:

1.Computer with USB printer
2. Computer(s) with network printer
3. Tablets with wifi printer

The voucher will be downloaded as a PDF if you click on 'print'. Whether it is a PC, tablet or mobile. You can then open it immediately (automatically with the printer app) and print it.



Pairing thermal receipt printer?

Set paper size

First of all, it is good to know that there are different settings for printing. You can set this by default per category. To do this, go to "Shopping settings" in the left side menu or via the dashboard. Choose the "Print settings" heading.


The middle column is about setting labels for products. So the left column is about setting receipts. Select the relevant "document type" and "document format" and click on Add. The selected document type appears in the list below. Click on the "pennet" behind the category you want to customize to open the next pop-up.



Here you can set up the voucher further:


Automatic printing:Does this document need to be printed automatically? Learn more about how to set it up.


Standard printer:Which printer should this document be printed on? So you can use different printers per type of document.


Paper tray:Do you have a specific drawer? You can set that this document should always be printed on that tray.


Document format:Which paper is in the printer? A4, A5, A6 or letter format? If you have automatic printing enabled, you will only see the supported formats of the printer here.


Document margins:What margins do you want to set with printing?


Rotation:Does the document need to be run? 90 degrees is equal to horizontal printing. For example, use the other options if your document turns out, use the other options.


Print store information:Choose whether you also want to show the store information.


Paper splitting:Do you want to print two vouchers at the same time on one paper? For example, a repair voucher for the customer and yourself.





Automatic printing

You can set per type of document whether they need to be printed automatically. This means that you do not have to open the PDF first and print it, but that we send this document directly to the printer without your intervention.
For this, it is necessary to download and install a utility so that we can see and control your printers. All printers installed on your computer can be used.
  1. Download the Printhelper tool (These are the installation instructions​)
  2. Exit your browser, install the downloaded file according to the instructions and then restart your browser.
  3. Use youGoogle Chrome or Firefox?Then you can skip this step. You will see a pop-up on the website with which you give permission.
    However, you are usingInternet Explorer or Microsoft Edge? Then you need to give the utility permission to communicate with PrismaNote:
  1. Go on your system toStartand type in "internet options." Choose the option that emerges.
  2. Choose the tabSecurityand selectLocalinternet.Then click right belowWebsites
  3. Uncheck the boxInclude all local (intranet) sites that are not in other zonesThen click on the bottomOkto save it and close the screen.
  1. Go back to your browser and to PrismaNote > Store Settings > Print settings.
  2. Behind the type of document you want to have printed automatically, select the pencil and turn on the "Automatic printing".
  3. We now retrieve the installed printers from your computer and show them at the option 'Default printer'. The pickup may take a while.
  4. Then choose the paper tray. If you are not sure which choice to make, choose 'car' or 'automatic selection'.
  5. In paper size, you will see the formats that the chosen printer supports, correct them if necessary, and save the document.

Everything is ready now!

In Repairs, Orders and Gift Cards, the "print" option appears at the print options when you have opened a transaction of that type. The purchase voucher will be automatically sent to the printer on a new purchase (when the option 'Download voucher is automatically on after completion'). The same applies to the gift card.
