Storage locations for repairs

Storage locations for repairs

Do you have a workshop or a larger repair department with multiple workbenches and storage locations? With storage locations you can easily keep track of where a repair is located in the shop, for example on a workbench, in a drawer or in the stockroom. This allows everyone in the shop to immediately see where a repair is located.

You can select a storage location manually on the repair page or quickly set it by scanning a barcode.

Creating and managing storage locations

Click Shop settings in the menu.

Click the POS tab.

Scroll down to the Storage locations section.

Here you can add and manage storage locations.

Adding a new storage location

Click the Add storage location button.

Enter the name of the storage location (for example Workbench 1, Stockroom, Drawer 3).

Save the storage location.

IdeaUse clear names for storage locations such as Workbench 1, Safe, Stockroom A or Counter drawer 2. This makes it easier for staff to find repairs quickly.

Deleting a storage location

Click the bin icon behind the relevant storage location.

Viewing or managing a storage location

Click the eye icon behind the relevant storage location.

Downloading a barcode for a storage location

Each storage location has its own barcode. You can print this barcode and place it on a workbench, cabinet or container.

Click the eye icon behind the relevant storage location (or open the storage location directly after creating it).

Next to the text Barcode, click the Download button.

A PDF file will be downloaded containing the storage location name and the corresponding barcode.

Print this barcode and place it at the relevant location in the shop.

Setting a storage location using the scanner

First scan the barcode of the repair.

Then scan the barcode of the storage location.

The storage location will automatically be linked to the repair.

Selecting a storage location on the repair page

You can also set a storage location manually.

Click Services in the menu.

Click the Repairs submenu.

Click View behind the relevant repair.

Select the desired location in the Storage location field.

The repair is now linked to the selected storage location.
