Linking website to your own domain name

Do you not have your own domain name yet (www.uwjuwelierszaaknaam.nl)? Then register it with a hosting company, such as Hostnet or TransIp. You can also have this done at PrismaNote in combination with your e-mail management. Look at thisThis page.Your domain can then be linked to the new website.



Three steps to take the website live

1. Linking the domain in the website builder
2. Change the DNS settings at your hosting company
3. Generate the SSL certificate in the website builder (by clicking on a button)


1.Linking the domain in the website builder

1. In the PrismaNote menu, click on 'Website Builder'
2. Click on the edit icon behind the website (or the Edit button in PN1)
3. The website builder opens in a new window.
4. Click on 'SEO and Settings' in the menu
5. Click on the tab 'Website domain'
6. Click on the black button 'Change site URL'




Are these steps not yet visible in your website builder? Send a message tosupport@prismanote.comwith the domain name to which you want the website to link. The admin then links your domain.

7. A new screen will appear.
8. Enter the domain and click on 'Save'





2. Change DNS data at hosting company

Next, the so-called DNS settings must be adjusted at the hosting company (the company where the domain is located and for which you receive an invoice).

There are 3 ways to change this:
  1. You can ask your hosting company or system administrator
  2. You can do it yourself
  3. You can let us do it

The two A records are used for server balance.

2. Change DNS data yourself

You can also change the settings yourself. It may take up to 48 hours for the change to be visible.

Changing DNS only affects your website, but with an email address associated with this domain (e.g. info@uwjuwelierszaaknaam.nl) it is extra careful.

Your email can stop it if you change the wrong settings.


Take a photo or screenshot with your smartphone of the current record settings. So you always have a backup of your adjustments.



Make sure the following records are present:


Type: A, Value: @, Reference to: 35.172.94.1

Type: A, Name: @, Reference to: 100.24.208.97

Type: CNAME, Name: www, Contents: s.multiscreensite.com



3. Let us do it

Send the (temporary) login details of the hosting company to support@prismanote.com to put the website live.

If you purchase the hosting from us, we will arrange it directly for you.




3. Generate SSL certificate in the website builder

If the DNS has been converted (this can take several hours after performing step 2) the SSL certificate can be generated in the website builder. This way the website is well secured.

1. In the PrismaNote menu, click on 'Website Builder'
2. Click on the edit icon behind the website (or the Edit button in PN1)
3. The website builder opens in a new window.
4. Click on 'SEO and Settings' in the menu
5. Click on the 'Site SSL' tab
6. After the website name, click on the 'Generate Certificate'




I succeeded! It takes about an hour for it to be generated and the website to be easily accessible.
